This day the children of the Hawera Christian School visited the
Nowell's Lakes to complete their biodiversity study of wetlands. They
were very excited to find an explosion of wildlife living in and about the
lakes at this time of the year

The Walkway is about 3km South of Hawera starting at the end of Rifle Range Road. If you travel down the Whareroa Road, the Rifle Range Road is the first road to the right past the Dairy Factory.

New Signs Show The Way
The Walkway has been accepted as a “Place of
Interest” in this year’s Taranaki Fringe Garden Festival and new roadway signs
have been installed in readiness for that.

Free Fun Family Picnic Day 2016
31st January 2016: Over 400 people turned up to enjoy our free family fun picnic day. There were long queues at the water slide, keen eyes watching the drone displays, scores of kids wanting to kayak and hungry and happy children at the barbecue. The Walkway Trust in partnership with the Normanby Lions Club and the South Taranaki Scout Group organised this event that turned out to very successful in achieving the objective of creating more public awareness of what the Nowell's Lakes had to offer
